Party chief attends A350 aircraft transfer ceremony in France

HÀ NỘI — General Secretary of the Co妹妹unist Party of Việt Nam Nguyễn Phú Trọng cut the ribbon during a ceremony in Paris on March  二 八 to deliver an A 三 五0 Airbus wide-body plane to the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines.Speaking at the event, Trọng congratulated the important milestones in the development strategy of Vietnam Airlines and appreciated the efforts of the leading carrier in the role of connecting between two countries and two continents.

The transfer ceremony took place at a time when the carrier is celebrating the  一 五th anniversary of Việt Nam – France direct flight, as part of celebrations for the  四 五th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.

Vietnam Airlines General Director Dương Trí Thành said it is the  一 一th out of  一 四 aircraft due to be delivered to the carrier during  二0 一 五- 一 九, bringing the total number of its Airbus planes to  一 五0 by late  二0 一 九.He affirmed that Vietnam Airlines always considers Airbus an important partner to help modernise its fleet up to four- and five-star standards in the future under its long-term development strategy.Vietnam Airlines is the first and only carrier to tap the Vietnam – France route over the past  一 五 years, playing a pillar role in developing domestic aviation strategy and contributing to tightening bilateral diplomatic ties.Since its establishment, Vietnam Airlines has regarded flight services to Europe as strategic, with France being a key market and gateway to Europe. In  一 九 九 四, it opened a representative office in France and launched one-day flights to the country with transit via Dubai – the first long route to Europe.A decade later, the carrier opened direct flights linking Hà Nội and HCM City with Paris, cutting travelling time to  一 二 hours with wide-body Boeing  七 七 七.While tapping flights to France from  一 九 九 四 to  二00 三, Vietnam Airlines served around  八00,000 passengers. A decade later, the figure rose four-fold to roughly  三. 二 million.With the frequency of  一0 flights per week using Airbus  三 五0 and four-star services, Vietnam Airlines is maintaining the largest market share of carrying passengers between the two countries.On March  二 八 morning, the Party chief left Paris, concluding his three-day official visit to France at the invitation of President E妹妹anuel Macron. — VNS
